Pumpkins + Crows

Autumn always comes early to our house.
While many are soaking in the last rays of summer sunshine, I'm longing for the crisp wind blowing across my cheeks + breaking out the autumn treasures to sprinkle around our house.

I'm not ashamed to admit these pretties have been up since the very first of September! :)

Life is but a dream

Yesterday, we celebrated a beautiful, glowing mama + her baby boy who will arrival later in December.

It is my belief that every nursery should have art (lots of art!) and a dream catcher.

Pieces of home, in autumn

If I had to choose a favorite space in our home, I am certain our bedroom would top the list. I love waking up early, grabbing a cup of coffee, and snuggling back in bed. Sometimes it is to read a few pages in a book, or spill thoughts into my journal. Other times it is just take a few quiet moments to myself before the day begins.

This autumn, I'm loving this space even more. What's not to love about twinkle lights, sparkly leaves, + pumpkins?

Moonlight Magic

I've been spending many of these delicious autumn afternoons playing in the studio lately - inspired by the cool and crisp air, how nightfall has been arriving earlier and earlier these days, and by the moon. <3

This is what I've been working on!
It measures 6" x 6", and reads:
the moonlight helped her remember the magic within her soul.

Holding Hands in the Dark

At our house, celebrating three years of marriage (yesterday) looked a little something like this:

sharing early morning coffee by the fire
creating lists of all the things we love about each other
sweet, handmade notes left for the other to find
(my absolute favorite): hubby 'decorated' the house with baby pumpkins! for those who know him, you understand why this may have made my entire month:)
delicious red wine +  reminiscing about our early days
homemade dinner enjoyed by candlelight
holding hands, always

I was reminded yesterday just how easy it is to love one another when the water is calm and the sun is shining...and how much it can feel like work when the downpour comes -the ship may be sinking, and you've forgotten your raincoat. And life-vest.  I'm so comforted that through all of the bumps and the scary unknown, I can always find his hand in the darkness. <3
