celebrating our first year

today we celebrate our first wedding anniversary!
october 2, 2010 was (in my completely unbiased opinion ;))one of the most gorgeous days oregon has seen in the fall. the autumn sun was shining amidst the cool breeze. the leaves danced.
the gorgeous flowers you are about to see were grown by my wildly talented aunt, sue. and the cake we ate? made my another of my amazingly gifted aunts, holly. i only wish we had frozen a piece to dig out of the freezer right about now!

karl and i were engaged for almost two (two!!) years before the big day. while we wouldn't wait that long if we had it to do all over again, it did allow my wonderful mother and i plenty of time to dream, hunt for treasures, iron out kinks, etc. i seriously could not have done it without her!
