a little spruce

 i just love changes, don't you? i recently switched out some old artwork for

these sweet prints by the lovely katie daisy -  they are the perfect addition to our bedroom!

sunshine and sand

happy tuesday, friends!
this is the latest piece, finished late last night.

for as long as i can remember, the coast has been my home away from home. i'm longing to be there again.
i've spent summers working as a waitress, firefighter, and housekeeper on the coast. i've also spent summers relaxing in the sunshine with a cool salty breeze and not a care in the world. today i'm holding those memories close to my heart.

this morning, i woke up to see the moon shining brightly, peeking through the evergreen trees across the street. i brewed a strong pot of coffee, plugged in the twinkle lights, and finished this piece.

i had an especially hard time leaving the studio to come to work this morning!

this is me today, at work. i'll take any reason to dress up a bit!

tonight, we stayed in. hubby made homemade pizza. we drank wine. got cozy in our sweat pants. watched netflix by the warm fire.

heart thoughts

i can hardly contain my excitement about this book.

i knew it was going to be amazing, and it turns out to be even better than that.

i thought i would read a little bit each night, to let each piece of wisdom and beauty sink in..but i can hardly put it down. it's a life-changer.

please, don't forget to live

lately, i've been taking a bit of a break. a break from list making. from social media sites. from learning photoshop. from creating daily.

i am learning to forget the mindset that when i am not in my art room i am a failure. i am learning to forgive myself. to be gentle during these vulnerable days, to remember this life is meant for living.
in this 'off' time, i have cooked delicious meals for the hubby, spent time reading a fabulous book, rearranged the living room, and watched countless episodes of 'Mad Men'. it really has been delightful.
