my hubby thinks i overdo-it when it comes to taking pictures. i just absolutely love capturing moments! especially since i got my first i-phone a few months ago...i mean, how
easy is it for us now to document the goodness in every day?!
i feel super sad whenever i remember the fact that almost 100% of my photos are digital.
one rainy sunday last month, i decided to do something about that.
i created an account with shutterfly, and created a few memory books. it was a few hours of pure bliss, playing around on their site.
i wanted to show you the results! i used a bunch of my instagram photos...so i was a little apprehensive about the quality...lets just say, i could not be more thrilled! and i'm in the process of making more. beware of an addiction if you decide to begin this process!

(daily) goodness
life, you are rocking lately.
with your messy hair days + rainstorms + bike rides + BBQs with good friends + hiking to waterfalls + visits from family.
sleeping in (late!!) for the first time in a long time.
long, rainy walks + art-making + music listening.
day-dreaming + house-hunting + lots of appreciating what we have. which is mostly love, which is the most important thing of all.
i'm a firm believer in finding goodness in everyday moments.
it's
not about having the most money or the cutest clothes or the nicest
car. it's about appreciating what we have - these moments.

(oh! i'm on instagram now, and completely obsessed... you can see more here photos here: @marywangerin.)

we all start somewhere
I have this thing about procrastinating. I really wish I could say otherwise, but it's true. This weekend was the very first time since I bought my new (to me) camera that I've taken it out exploring! (Let's just say I've had it for 'several' months;)) I'm determined to get so good with using it that I'm no longer super frustrated when I need good photos, and it's a surprise if they come out clear and with good light:).
My inlaws came to Mill City for a visit over the long weekend, and we took them hiking at Shellburg Falls (which is quickly becoming one of our favorite spots!). We are a fan of secluded/ isolated, little-known places like this:). It was the most beautiful day of the weekend - not too hot, but the sun was out!
I channeled two of my favorite photographer ladies while taking these photos (her and her)...and I made it less about getting "perfect pictures" and more about expanding my knowledge and having a
good time exploring my camera.
Sometimes the hardest thing to remember is the fact that we all start out beginners. The important thing is to begin.
Here's to new beginnings, friends!

hiking Silver Falls
This is what our Mother's Day looked like this year.
Hiking/picnicking/togetherness/nature...it was heaven.
Isn't my mama pretty? I'm so completely thankful for her every single day.
I've lived in Oregon my whole life, and I noticed on this trip that even
so - I still found myself wanting to capture all of the insane beauty surrounding us.
How lucky are we to live in such a gorgeous place? I could never get
tired of this scenery.
How was your weekend, friends? I hope that it was everything you needed it to be.

You'll never know, dear
Have I mentioned my latest obsession with painting on vintage plaques these days? They are less expensive than regular canvas, ready to hang, and...just so dang cute!
This is one of the latest custom projects. Those gorgeous pink flowers in the background are evidence that my mom has been to visit recently! (She always brings flowers:)).
I've been full on savoring every last drop of life these days. Art projects galore, soaking up sunshine, family time, coffee dates, road trips...it's the best kind of busy a gal can be, in my opinion.
This last weekend, my hubby and I road tripped to the coast...where at one point, it reached NINETY DEGREES! On the Oregon Coast?! I couldn't believe it. After a BBQ on Saturday, we went down to the river and laid on the grass, listening to the water move + the cool breeze whisper through the trees. I swear the grass was 10 degrees cooler than the pavement/gravel!
There is so much on my heart lately. I'm so full of gratitude + hope. I can't wait to share everything with you! When I'm a little more rested. For now, it's off to bed for this girl!
